“Growing up in Jacksonville, I learned a lot in school about the transient miners who discovered gold in the foothills of Jacksonville. We studied the Chinese workers and frequented the historic structures in town. But nothing was said about the important values that the German settlers brought to the area—strong families, a strong work ethic, a meat and potato diet, and good beer! We hope the restaurant will showcase the German settlers’ contributions to Jacksonville’s heritage”.
